Instructor Profile

2025 Instructor lineup
Virginia Lacefield

Virginia has enjoyed climbing on things her entire life. Trees, rocks, ropes, jungle gyms, scaffolding, and anything else she could wrap her hands around. Nine years ago, she discovered aerial circus arts and it was love at first climb! Although her favorite apparatus is lyra (aerial hoop), Virginia also plays and performs on silks, sling, rope, and pole with Sora Aerial Arts in Lexington, KY. She earned her aerial instructor certification through Spin City in 2023 and loves sharing her passion for aerial arts with students of all shapes, sizes, ages, and fitness levels. Virginia is excited to be attending her ninth PlayThink this year!

(1) Aerial Hoop/Lyra for Beginner/Int, (2) Int/Adv, and (3) Duo (all levels)
Lyra for beginners covers basic mounts and simple poses for new learners. Int/Adv lyra is adjustable based on attendees skill level, but will include intermediate level poses, transitions, dynamic movements, rolls, and/or small drops. Duo lyra includes spins, mounts, and poses for partners. Lyra classes will be co-taught with Taylor McVey-Smith, Jenn Whittier, and/or other aerial instructors so we can have multiple rig points and spotters for safety.
